It is hard to believe that the 2012-2013 winter season is
coming to a close this upcoming weekend, but what a winter to remember. After
the 2011-2012 season which brought too much rain and warmth, this season was definitely
a good rebound season. Thanks to Team Snowmageddon we had the snow guns pumping
out snow as early as November 5th. After a few weeks our man made Nor’easter
allowed us to open the slopes on November 23rd, and we haven’t
looked back since. The aggressiveness of Team Snowmageddon allowed us to open a
lot of terrain earlier than we have in years past. Along with the deep snow
bases that our snow guns made, Mother Nature also chipped in as well. Cranmore
Mountain received close to one hundred inches of natural snow, which provided
for plenty of powder days along the way.
Along
with the great conditions there were plenty of great events throughout the
season like Cranapalooza, Skiing with the GM, The Hannes Schneider Meister Cup
and our 75th Anniversary Gala. There truly was never a dull moment
this season at Cranmore! As we approach the last days of the season, everyone
at Cranmore would like to thank all the skiers and riders who have come out
throughout the season. We are lucky to have such great people who choose to
have Cranmore as their home mountain. As this chapter of our long and storied
history closes we look forward to the next chapter beginning next November!
