The Ghoullog Returns for its 6th Year of Scare

Scary things are happening at The Ghoullog
The Ghoullog – the annual month-long Halloween event at Cranmore Mountain in North Conway, NH – is taking a turn for the worse this year, with a new haunt, new night-time themed rides, plus all the scares and screams you’ve come to expect, returning for its 6th year.

The Ghoullog is an unforgettable experience, leading unsuspecting guests through a series of dark rooms, scary mazes and other unknown places. “It’s all new this year,” stated Ghoullog creator, Lance Davis. “We all have something in common; everyone is going to die at some point. The Ghoullog will make you face your fears of death and mortality.”

This year, the main Ghoullog attraction has moved indoors, allowing for more space, more scares and a weather-proof experience.  Visitors will be shuttled from the main base area to the new haunt, which features 15,000 square feet of twists and turns.

New for the Ghoullog this year is the addition of new rides and scares in “The Haunted Playground.” Cranmore’s Mountain Coaster, Giant Swing and Zipline will receive a Halloween-themed face lift as they offer “The Haunted Playground.” The Coaster is a roller-coaster like ride that takes visitors on a 3,600 foot round trip ride up and down the mountain in a 2-person sled mounted on a steel track. Cranmore’s Giant Swing, which gives 4 people a breath-taking sky-ride, will also operate at night for the event. The Soaring Eagle Zipline fleshes out the Haunted Playground letting visitors fly 750 feet up and back down the mountain in a seated zipline.  All Haunted Playground rides will offer a unique night-time experience with special lighting, effects and the occasional ghost or ghoul when you least expect it.

The Cult at The Ghoullog
For those seeking the ultimate heart-stopper, Cranmore has added “The Cult at the Ghoullog,” offered for brave souls over the age of 18. The Cult can be up to an hour long scare, depending on how long you last. It includes a trip to mountain’s summit aboard the chairlift. This haunt is considered an extremely interactive scare, suited for just one individual at a time. Tickets are additional to the Ghoullog, and are extremely limited for The Cult and advance reservations are strongly recommended by calling 603-356-5544.

“The Cult is the ultimate in terror. It’s not for everyone, just for the die hard. It’s those who want the true experience of ‘real life terror’ to test your fears,” warned Davis.

Tickets for admission to The Ghoullog are $25 at the door or $23 online. A Ghoullog Plus package includes one Ghoullog admission and 3 Haunted Playground rides for $46 at the door or $44 online. The Cult is $30 per person. Haunted Playground tickets are $25 for 3 rides, or $12 for individual rides.

Additionally, residents of Carroll and Coos County in New Hampshire or Oxford County in Maine are entitled to a $21 “locals” rate for the Ghoullog standard ticket on Sunday, October 28.

The Ghoullog also offers an outdoor fall food court, with food specialties like Killer Kettle Corn, Body Bag Chips, Nightmare Nachos and Frankenstein Fries. Additionally, the Ghoullog will open the Bloody Noose Pub, a fully-licensed facility serving up Tuckerman Ale and other libations, plus an outdoor beer garden.

The Ghoullog will take place on weekend nights from 6:30pm – 10:30pm from September 28 until October 28. Doors open at 6pm. Advance reservations strongly recommended.  The Ghoullog is recommended for ages 10 and up. The Cult is for ages 18 and up only.  Age, height and weight restrictions apply to Haunted Playground rides – see website for details.
