Is it a bird? Is it a plane? NO- It’s the Soaring Eagle!

Our new Soaring Eagle Zip Line has just arrived and the installation of the attraction has started. The crew we have working on this project have been full throttle since the parts to the zip line arrived, despite the desert like temps and the wonderful New England humidity that we are currently experiencing. Cheers to them! We should expect the Soaring Eagle to be complete in no time. Once installed, you and a friend or family member will be able to fly down 700ft of mountainside terrain in comfortable side-by-side seats. To check out what exactly the Soaring Eagle is, visit the Soaring Eagle Zipline Media page.
The Soaring Eagle will be a year-round attraction which means it will be operating in the winter. Speaking of winter, the 2012-2013 ski season is just around the corner. Our early season pass rate is still in effect, but only until June 30, where it will then increase in price. If you buy now you can save an average of $80 per family, and also receive special thank you bonuses like a $25 Cranmore gift card, a Storyland day pass, and a Cranmore summer value pass! So what are you waiting for? Buy your season pass NOW! To purchase your pass, swing by our ticket office which is open daily, or swing on over to our E-store and buy online.

Cranmore nears its 75th anniversary, with a handful of improvements in store for winter.

As the pages of the calendar keep turning, we see that winter is just a mere 7 months away, which means it is time to shift the gears into preparing for another great ski season.

With this being said, employees at Cranmore have been hard at work getting everything ready.

Cranmore is entering its 75th anniversary, and we want this coming winter to be one to remember!

We’ve got our hands on many projects this summer, including the installation of a new fixed grip triple chair in replace of our old double chair that some may know as “Rickety Red”. Almost 3,000 ft has been cleared in the making of the new lift line. The lift itself will begin to be installed mid-summer.  Once the chair is installed and running, it will provide summit access and an additional 300 vertical ft to our southern slopes.

And what good would a chairlift be without snow below our skis and boards? We’ve purchased 60 new tower guns to keep the snow coming for the 2012-13

ski season. These snow guns will bring the count of energy efficient tower guns up to 300, with our total fleet adding up to approximately 450 snow guns. With  about 2/3 of our snow gun collection being highly efficient, we will be able to greatly increase our snowmaking power while reducing the amount of energy consumed.

The Soaring Eagle Zipline, installed this summer, will also operate all winter long joining Cranmore’s popular tubing park, mountain coaster and giant swing rides and attractions.
