Thinkin' Snow!

With December having a low total snowfall, January has rebounded nicely.  We've received 32 inches this month and it looks like more may be on the way.  Even though the cold made an appearance, with temps dropping into the negative teens yesterday, conditions stayed great.  We blew snow overnight and this morning I was greeted by a fresh covering on the ground with light snow falling from the skies.  All of these factors combined and we should have great conditions out there today and for the near future.  The snow has been setting up nicely for us with a combination of recent snowfalls, great temperatures, and skillful grooming by the squad here at the mountain.  All the more reason you should make a trip out to Cranmore today!  Stay up to date with our conditions at our Cranmore Website and follow us on facebook @ Cranmore Mountain Facebook Fan Page.

Here's a brief outlook on some of the events we have coming up!
January 29th, USASA Slopestyle event - Should see some awesome athletes throwing down in the Darkside!

February 5th, Meister Hut Wine Dinner - you can RSVP at the Ticket House while seating lasts.  It will be a great night on the top of Cranmore having an incredible dinner!  More dates are available!

We Are Now 100% Open!

Thanks to Mother Nature lending her caring touch on the region, we've been able to open all trails and glades today on January 19th, 2011!  This is our first day of 100% open terrain on the season.  After a slow start to the winter, the snowfall has been ramping up this month laying nice coverage on our trails and providing a nice base in the woods.  We have picked up 2+ feet of snow since January 12th and there is more in the forecast for the near future!  Remember to check out our Cranmore Mountain Fan Page on facebook to see up to date photos of all the snow and beautiful conditions!  Cranmore Mountain Fan Page

The skiing has been phenomenal here the past two weeks.  Our snowmakers did an excellent job setting us up with a great base to build upon.  Now we can let the snow falling from the skies take care of the rest.  The groomers have also been out in full effect to help manicure the mountain to perfection.  One of my favorite runs to take when the snow is falling is Schneider to Artist Falls.  The trees help shelter it from the wind and the snow just piles up!  Give it a try next time you see some considerable snow in the forecast!  You can stay up to date on our news and conditions at our Cranmore Website.

The terrain parks have also seen some major upgrades in the meantime.  A full build took place from last Monday through Friday that saw the Otherside and Darkside receiving some new additions.  The iconic stairset saw installation as well as some new rails and boxes to get tricky on.  It's been great to see shredders of all ages taking advantage of the features.  We're not done yet though as we have major plans in place to bulk up the Otherside and Darkside for USASA Slopestyle competition on the 29th of this month.  We hope you're ready to show up and bust out a bag full of tricks to impress the judges!

Cranmore sends thanks to everyone who came out and spent Martin Luther King weekend with us.  From fireworks and nightskiing to a pirate themed Cranapalooza and apres events, we were the buzz of North Conway.  What helped this weekend be so special was the arrival of 14" of perfect powder the Wednesday before that help set up perfect conditions.  The only downside was the Patriots not prevailing against the Jets, but we live to ski another day!

Slashing up some pow yesterday during the snowfall!

This is where you can find the good stuff!

Couldn't be a better place than to be shredding under blue skies than Cranmore!

Into the Heart of Winter!

We're now in our 7th week of operation here at Cranmore and the mountain is coming together nicely.  Alot has happened since our last post and we'll be sure to fill you in on all of it.  The holidays were great here at Cranmore when we received a late Christmas present in the form of a foot of snow.  Early risers on that Monday could be found in knee deep drifts on Schneider and Artist Falls.  I know, I saw them there!  We posted a video snow report shortly after showing just how nice some of the snow was.  If you head to our Multimedia Page you can find it under Weekly Videos and it is named Snow Report 12-27.  Check out some of the other pictures and videos while you're at it.  We've been updating them quite frequently and there are some fresh images of the mountain to be seen!

After the snow had fallen, a week of sunny skies and comfortable temperatures ensued.  The masses hit the slopes for remainder of Christmas vacation week and it was great to see the mountain come alive.  Friends and families alike enjoyed all that Cranmore had to offer.  New trails opened daily thanks to our snowmakers, groomers, and patrollers.  It was great to see the skiers get to enjoy a variety of terrain as ropes dropped on new trails everyday.  Cranmore wasn't only just the place to be during the day.  We kept our guest entertained into the night as well.  For adults we held awesome apres entertainment in Zip's Pub.  For the younger crowds we had a special Wednesday edition of night skiing and Cranapalooza.  Not to be outdone we hosted another round of Cranapalooza and night skiing on New Year's Eve that was complimented by a wonderful fireworks show!  The mountain coaster and tubing park also saw special holiday hours with our guests enjoying each until 9pm each night.  Thanks to all who came out and joined us during the holiday season.  We hope to see you out there again soon!

The New Year started off hot, literally. It was time to strip the layers off when temperatures hit 50 degrees on New Year's Day. I enjoyed the slopes in just a sweatshirt, others were more bold and busted out the t-shirts. This was the way to end a vacation week with some of the best conditions of the year. After this January heat wave, temperatures dropped to more seasonal levels and the hard-working snowmakers began at it again. They've been blowing snow on the mountain ever since and have increased our acreage from the 90's during vacation week to 120 now. We'll be keeping at it until the mountain is at 100% capacity. We also have some big plans in store for the coming Martin Luther King weekend. We're at 35 trails now and are looking to open up even more to make it another great weekend at the mountain. The Darkside and Otherside parks are seeing a complete makeover with builds going on from today until Thursday. With all these great plans in place, Mother Nature may lend some cooperation and drop some fresh on us Wednesday. This would top it off for us and for you when you come out and hit slopes! Remember to stay connected with us on our Facebook Fan Page and at our Cranmore Mountain Website.
