Happy Snowy New Year's Weekend!

Snowmaking at the summit.
Snow is falling outside my window right now making the trees and the slopes even prettier with the nice white stuff! Our snowmakers have been at it almost around the clock and we have increased our trail count by 76% since Christmas Day. All in all, a remarkable feat considering the lack of cooperation we've had from Mother Nature so far this year.

Seeing is believing so I'm pleased to share these photos with you from this morning. I was lucky enough to get out there and take some runs before the holiday crowds arrived. I skied Skimeister and Ledges for the first time this season.

Look for Koessler to be added this weekend. And hug a snowmaker if you see one - they're the ones making this all possible!

Snowfall for Christmas Weekend

Thanks to mother nature (or Santa) for bringing us 5 inches of the white fluffy stuff on Friday 12/23/11. Enjoy these nice photos of this morning’s dedication of the Jimmy Mersereau memorial and the fresh snowfall. Come up this weekend and kick off your holidays the right way!

Let the Season Begin!

Well, it finally happened- we're open! We had a great re-opening weekend, with 7 trails open on Saturday, and 8 on Sunday, and even freestyle terrain in the Lucky Loop for park skiers and riders. The snowmaking team has been doing a great job in getting Cranmore coated in white, and in the last 24 hours have been blasting snow on 16 trails, so we'd like the give them a huge pat on the back and a nice "thank you". We are lucky enough to have temps on our side lately, and hope the weather doesn't decide to change on us (unless it's snow, of course!). By tomorrow, Tuesday Dec. 20th, we are looking to open learning terrain such as Chinstrap and Macaroni, and by the middle or later of the week we plan on opening more terrain off the summit. By Christmas day, we hope to have 60+ skiable acres open on 17 trails.

We are open for skiing and riding everyday from now until the end of March, so get out on the mountain every chance you get, and make sure to put snow on the top of your Holiday wish-list to help assist the snowmakers, and in hopes for one of the best ski seasons yet!

Here's the Scoop on Snowmaking!

Great news, Cranmore fans! We are opening for daily operations for skiing and riding starting this Sat. Dec. 17th!  Just checked in with Snowcat Johnny and got the following run down on snowmaking and trails to open between now and Christmas. Of course everything is weather dependent but this is the current plan:

For this weekend, we plan on opening with 8 trails and 33.7 acres for your skiing and riding pleasure. Trails available will include Easy St., Gibson, Lower Gibson, Snow Train, Lucky Pitch, Beginner’s Luck, South Slope and Beginner Basin.

By Dec. 22, we’ll add in favorites like Upper Hurricane and Middle, plus learning terrain like Macaroni and Chinstrap, taking us up to 12 trails and 49+ acres.

Finally, by Christmas Day, we’ll add Ledges, Competition Slope, Lower North and Lower East bringing our acreage up to 60+ and 17 trails total.

Of course, Mother Nature could surprise us at any time with snowfall, so we ask you to continue to ask Santa for a White Christmas. Be sure to download your Christmas Day E-Coupon for $25 lift tickets for all ages on 12/25. Download it here by Christmas Eve!,E-Coupon

Tubing at Settlers' Green!

Thanks goes out to everyone who stopped by for a spin down our mini tubing hill at Settlers' Green in North Conway today! Everyone seemed to be having a blast, and C-More left happy as a result of numerous hugs and snapshots from penguin "paparazzi".  With over 1000 rides down our hill, we'd like to call today a success!

Here are a few pictures from the fun we had today:

C-More led the Carolers in song.

Our lane was short, but sweet for certain!

All smiles.

Going for a ride.

Jay and C-More having a little too much fun.

Hugs for C-More!

Thanks again for joining us! We hope to reopen our real tubing hill, as well as the lifts for skiing and riding, next weekend on Dec. 10th. Keep checking in with us for updates! WISH FOR SNOW!

Thank You Mother Nature!

We have received almost a foot of snow on Wed. We will resume snow making Wed. and Thurs. night and are tentatively planning to open for skiing and riding on Sat. Nov. 26th. This is all weather dependent and relies on our ability to make snow on top of the white stuff mother nature gave us today, so please check back on Fri. for the latest.

The Mountain Coaster and Giant Swing will operate Fri. Nov. 25 – Sun. Nov. 27 from 9am – 4pm. The Indoor Adventure Zone, with two bouncy houses, Spider Mountain Climb and Bungy Trampoline, opens the same dates from 10am – 4pm.

A View From Above

Looks like winter is finally here! Our Snowmakers were hard at work again early this morning to get a nice coat of white on the slopes from top to bottom. The Weather Man is also saying that tonights storm might bring up to 14 inches of snow. Now that's what we like to hear!

We got the opportunity to hop on a plane this morning and cruise around Cranmore to check out the snow coverage so far, thanks to our Snowmaking Crew. Here are some of the shots we got from the sky:

Homecoming This Weekend!

Our second annual Homecoming event is this Saturday, November 26, 2011, and we'd like to welcome back season pass holders and our friends! The event will feature an overview by Cranmore President, Ben Wilcox on the highlights of the resorts on-going improvements. During Homecoming, you'll also have a chance to bid on recently retired trail signs, with proceeds going to the Jimmy Mersereau Scholarship Fund. The Fund was founded in 2010 in the wake of the passing of Cranmore's long time mountain operations director Jimmy Mersereau

Listed below are all of the signs that will be auctioned off.
